If you haven’t heard the news yet, the “New7Wonders of Nature” have been announced. First some background,.. then the new 7 Wonders,.. then 2 “Buts.” So, the New7Wonders of Nature project was stated in 2007 and led by Canadian-Swiss Bernard Weber, with organizational work done by the Swiss-based New7Wonders Foundation. Through a global poll,
Dolphins — do you know anybody who doesn’t like them? So cute, so amazing and funny — that’s what they are. What’s more — they’re absolutely intelligent and talented! Can I say that they’re just fabulous animals?
Have any of you swum with dolphins? Can you describe this feeling for those who haven’t had so much fortune to do that (yet)? I hope I will try one day!
Ferrets? AWESOME! They’re getting more and more popular as pets, and that’s nothing surprising! They’re not so easy to live with — you have to be very patient. However, they’re great friends with whom you can have a lot of fun! Today, you can see ferrets in the bathroom, in the snow, white ferrets, and others. They’re all cool, beautiful, just gorgeous.
Delonix regia is an awesome tree that look like it’s burning. In Spanish it’s called “Flamboyán” — that seems to really fit it. Flamboyan is a breathtaking tree worth looking at for hours! There’s nothing what will explain the beauty of that tree to you — just look at it!
Why have I chosen the platypus? Because it’s a pretty awesome animal — I think it’s one of the most unusual creatures in the world! Moreover, when I was young I got a book about nature. I guess I wasn’t very aware of the existence of more animals than just common pets, but in that book I discovered something unbelievable! It was the platypus. I still remember that moment when I read about it, and when I was learning in school that mammals are animals which don’t have the ability of oviparity, I thought, “All right, but you forget about the platypus!”
Kangaroos are very interesting animals to many of us because of their unique appearance and their rarity (in most parts of the world). I suppose that in cartoons kangaroos are always the boxers, but I think their not so bad! I think that kangaroos are beautiful and not many people in the world will ever see a kangaroo in their life. But don’t worry! We’ve got photos!
Photo Credit: CadenArmstrong via Flickr My friend and I have never seen a hedgehog, so I decided to find some photos to solace us. Maybe that’s not the same as seeing one in real life, but still, I think they’re really cute animals. Are hedgehogs common in your area? Some of my friends say that
LC’s eye via Flickr Hi there, I’m sorry not to upload 10 Friday Photos last week, but I was kidnapped and taken to Wonderland! Well, one of all the amazing creatures there were flamingos with their awesome, pink feathers and majestic poise. I found some photos of them so you can look at them and
Photo Credit: Roy via flickr Rainbows… I think they’re one of the most inspirational things that nature gives us and that, for sure, make us feel optimistic. Don’t you think that not seeing rainbows in life would be so sad? Well, I hope that it won’t happen to anyone. Enjoy the photos and choose the
Photo Credit: James Lines via Flickr I come from Poland and I will never forget these days when I was young, when I went to the nearest park where there was a huge pond with swans. I loved to go there and I was really disappointed whenever there were no swans. I remember that once
I know, you are extremely curious to find out which posts on Planetsave got the most views in 2010. I was too. Here they are, the top 30. Did you read them all? 30. Amazon River (10 Friday Photos) People love pretty pictures, (especially of the Amazon). 29. Top Environmental Organizations in the United States (7 Green
Photo Credit: J.E. Fee via Flickr Well, Christmas time has already started, so I decided to show you some photos connected to Christmas! I chose reindeer. I think that with them being one of the icons of winter and Santa Clause’s coming, they really remind me childhood. I can’t imagine there is a person who
Photo Credit: protecttheoceans via Flickr For me, sharks, with their beautiful look and power, are one of the most interesting animals. Often, people describe them as a ugly, brutal animals that are dangerous. The other awful case is that some people eat them, which is thousands times more cruel than the few events in which
Peacocks, in my humble opinion, are one of the most beautiful creatures on the planet. I was lucky enough to have a peacock family in my neighborhood for awhile while I was growing up (although, some considered them a menace due to the loud noises they would make — never bothered me). Still, they
In honor of the recent, historic tiger summit this month, this week’s 10 Friday Photos post is on tigers. And since the country leaders meeting in St. Petersburg, Russia decided to set the goal of doubling the number of wild tigers by 2022 (the next Year of the Tiger), we are doubling our photos this week,
For this week’s 10 Friday Photos post, we decided to go with adorably cute koalas. These photos below are both extremely adorable and hilarious, in my humble opinion. Enjoy, and let us know if you have any requests for future posts in the comments below. Also, as always, feels free to share links to more
Sea dragons? Well, they may not be real “popular,” but they are such amazing animals and definitely deserve more attention. They are beautiful, colorful and look very magical. I think sea dragons could be a proper icon of all oceans, even though they mostly live near Australia. Check out these beautiful pics below. (Thanks to Taylen
Rainforests… Can you believe they are real? I think that rainforests are beautiful and I wish I could visit one of them some time. They look like they were from a movie or picture made by someone with a huge imagination, don’t you think? Well, this week’s 10 Friday Photos is on this topic of
This Friday, check out these 10 photos of muskrat for 10 Friday Photos. I’ve heard some story that muskrats move near human houses and disturbed them, and even scare them! Well, maybe, but aren’t they so cute? Look at these photos and enjoy!
11 photos of lemurs for “10 Friday Photos” this week! Do you remember King Julien from “Madagascar”? Wasn’t he cute? Well, today we’ve got 11 photos with lemurs like him. Maybe they’re not kings, but they absolutely rule!
11 photos of absolutely adorable otters for this week’s 10 Friday Photos post.
Some great pictures of pandas! Admire their beauty. And help to protect them! Giant Pandas need to be protected. They’ve been hunted for ages, because people want to have their impressive furs. Now, their approach towards extinction is no small matter. Of course, there are many organisations that try to save them, but it doesn’t
17 amazing zebra pictures, to follow the birth of a zedonk (zebra-donkey hybrid) earlier this week. Ok, I have to make a confession, this post has turned into a 10 + 7 Friday Photos post. I love zebras — one of my very favorites animals (maybe favorite) since I was a child — they are
10 beautiful and fun photos of the Amazon River. If you haven’t noticed, I love water. Every time I do a post for this 10 Friday Photos series, I seem to pick something related to water or at least include a lot of pics with water in them. Perhaps that’s why Martyna decided to do
Enjoy 10 beautiful photos of the desert. A lot of people think that the desert is only sand and heat. If that was true, the desert would definitely be a very boring place. The thing is to see how powerful and beautiful deserts actually are. They have survived huge periods of time and deserve a
In this week’s 10 Friday Photos post, enjoy great photos of 10 beautiful national parks. Since this week’s 7 Green Bloggers post was about top nature destinations and some of the bloggers chose national parks, I decided to make sure some of the photos in this post are of those national parks.
10 beautiful photos of the Gulf of Mexico and the Gulf of Mexico’s beautiful beaches. [social_buttons] I grew up on the Gulf of Mexico coast in Southern Florida. It has been horrible and scary to see what is happening and to read about what might happen as a result of the BP oil spill in
[social_buttons] Enjoy this week’s 10 Friday Photos post with ten photos of beautiful mountain and lake combinations. Mountains and lakes are beautiful on their own and I’m sure we will have to do a post for mountain photos and lake photos individually, but this post captures the great beauty of the two combined. From Lake
