Shown below in an image taken by one of the astronauts aboard the International Space Station is the Atlantic Seaboard of America at night.
Showing Norfolk and Richmond, Virginia, Washington, DC, Baltimore, Maryland, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and New York, New York, this image represents one of the largest conurbations – an economically, politically and, to some extent, socially linked entity.
Known as the Atlantic Seaboard Conurbation (ASC), it extends over 1,000 kilometers (600 miles) and is a beautiful sight to look at.
