Spent a nervous hour and a half packing my bag, watching twitter #ilwx, having a sandwich, and tossing my shoes out of the closet to make room for me, the cat, the bag, and the android.
The sun is out now in Oak Park/River Forest, Illinois, where I live. Someone just reported a rainbow nearby. Signing off for today.

How many solar and wind installations were destroyed?
Excellent question. Like to hear from anyone with insights/answers: [email protected]. Presently working on breaking news from UNFCCC and Fukushima right now, but will try to address in a followup.
Wind turbines are extremely capable of withstanding strong winds and natural disasters. Better than other power providers. Solar panels are of course distributed to a great degree, so even if a few roofs come off, most solar panels will remain intact. 😀
