Nothing Says Valentine's Day Like the Mating Call of an Endangered Species

bald eagleIf you’re looking for truly unique gift for your lover this Valentine’s Day, you might have to get a little primal.

For the environmentally minded, the sounds of some of the Earth’s most endangered species might be a fitting reminder that we have a responsibility to the animal kingdom, and there’s no better place than the ever-present cellphone to share these sounds with others.

Thanks to the Center for Biological Diversity (CBD), a new series of 25 cell phone ringtones, “Love Calls of the Wild”, including mating calls, social calls, and assorted chirps, hoots, and growls from endangered species around the world.

“Whether it’s the song of an orca, the hoot of a spotted owl or the howl of a Mexican gray wolf, these ringtones instantly connect people with wildlife, including species at the edge of extinction. These ringtones are a great way to show your love for the wild on Valentine’s Day.” – Peter Galvin, director of programs at CBD

This new special edition series adds to CBD’s already extensive collection of high-quality and authentic sounds and downloadable wallpaper images from some of the Earth’s most threatened species, dubbed Rare Earthtones.

“Love Calls of the Wild includes some of our most often downloaded “Rare Earthtones” ringtones — social calls made by animals like the orca, Mexican gray wolf and humpback whale. For the especially amorous, we’re also offering a list of “lovebird” ringtones: birds calls for bonding or finding a mate, and even several ringtones of two birds singing in duet. (How romantic!)” – CBD

Get your lover a Valentine’s Day gift that’s a little on the wild side with the endangered species mating calls and lovebird ringtones from Rare Earthtones.
