This false-colour image of Lake Carnegie in Western Australia was taken by Landsat 7’s Enhanced Thematic Mapper plus (ETM+) sensor on May 19, 1999.
Lake Carnegie only fills with water during intense periods of rainfall, and is left a muddy marsh during the dry years. As can be seen, 1999 was not a dry year, and the beautiful image depicts life at its fullest in western Australia.
