Antarctic Peninsula From Space (Photo of the Day)

Once again using the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer on board their Aqua satellite, NASA have provided this stunning image of the Antarctic Peninsula.

The image was taken on the 5th of October and shows a portion of the Antarctic Peninsula – which reaches out towards the southern tip of South America – and the South Shetland Islands.
