Becky Striepe of our sister site Ecoscraps recently shared a pretty amazing photo of the plastic contents of a juvenile green sea turtle’s stomach (shown above). The sea turtle was apparently accidentally captured in Bahía Samborombón, Argentina.
Becky writes: “Green sea turtles are an endangered species and are having a particularly rough time of things lately, dealing with extreme temperatures and with plastic pollution. We talk about the problems with plastic, but a photo like this really drives home the dangers of our disposable, plastic-based consumerism.”
It sure does.
