Cold Front Sweeps Over US East Coast

NASA’s GOES-13 satellite captured the below image of a very strong cold front moving across the US East Coast on April 5, at approximately 10:31 am, EDT, (1431 UDT).

Severe thunderstorms were triggered as a result of the cold front (the line of brightest white depicted in the image are the highest and strongest thunderstorms). NASA noted that the clearing behind the front indicates high pressure building in that will generate gusty winds along the east coast from Boston, Massachusetts to Orlando, Florida.
