16% of Species in Finding Nemo Endangered

Pixar’s Finding Nemo is a classic, already. Unfortunately, many of the species in the film are endangered. A new study by the International Union for Conservation of Nature actually finds that 16% of them “face the threat of extinction.”

“The analysis of 1,568 species is not just a whimsical look at American popular culture and its cartoon characters. It reveals how humans treat some of the ocean’s most charismatic inhabitants.”
