Follow the James Cook Exploring Antarctic Waters

If you’ve thought that you always wanted to know a bit more about the expeditions and research trips that result in the news stories that appear throughout the news, you’re in luck, as the research vessel the James Cook is currently heading to Antarctica.

Follow us aboard the research ship James Cook as we explore the ocean depths around Antarctica with the remotely operated vehicle Isis. We’re investigating undersea volcanic vents and colonies of deep-sea creatures to understand more about how our planet works and the web of life beneath the waves.
