An entirely white killer whale has been seen for the first time in the known history of the world. It was spotted in Russia off the coast of Kamchatka.
The whale was actually seen for the first time back in 2010, but the researchers waited to release the news until they had more time to study him. The killer whale is a male that is believed to be about sixteen years old. The researchers are currently unsure whether he is an albino or in some other way genetically different.
The exact location he was seen was in the North Pacific, off the coast of Kamchatka, near the Commander Islands.
There’s a timeline of events related to the white orca on the Russian Orcas homepage.
