gisele & don cheadle planting trees for world environment day

Short story: supermodel Gisele Bündchen and world-leading actor Don Cheadle (one of my favorites), in their roles as UNEP Goodwill Ambassadors, have launched an international challenge for World Environment Day aimed at getting a new forest planted.

To get involved, all you need to do is go to www.wedchallenge.org, browse through the A-Z of WED ideas, pick and pledge a green activity, and then pick your team — Team Don or Team Gisele.

Gisele, as you can see in the video above, has committed to planting a tree for every pledge made, and Don has committed to planting 2. The more pledges, the bigger the forest! So, get involved and make a pledge today!

Here’s a little more from an email I recently received on the challenge:

So would you rather see a fashionable forest by Gisele or some Tinseltown trees by Don? The choice is yours!

Whether it’s switching from plastic bags to cloth bags, car-pooling with colleagues or organizing a tree-planting day, WED activities can be big, small, local, international, noisy, quiet….just as long as they’re green.

Visit www.wedchallenge.org, browse the A-Z of WED ideas, find your inspiration and tell the world what you’re doing. Then most importantly, decide who will get your vote…

I just made my pledge, and joined Team Don. Whose team are you joining?
