Unfortunately, the BP oil spill in the Gulf isn’t helping everybody to learn from their mistakes (or the mistakes of those who they support). Tony Hayward, Sarah Palin (who increasingly reminds me of Paris Hilton), Rush Limbaugh and Representative Don Young have a host of ridiculously sad statements so far.<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Don’t know if I should laugh or cry at these comments.<\/p>\n

10. Republican Representative Don Young (AK)<\/strong><\/a>: “This is not an environmental disaster, and I will say that again and again because it is a natural phenomena. Oil has seeped into this ocean for centuries.”<\/p>\n

Care2 asks us all to speak up and send a letter to Rep. Young telling him to stop defending Big Oil<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

9. Sarah Palin<\/strong><\/a>: “Radical environmentalists: you are damaging the planet with your efforts to lock up safer drilling areas. There\u2019s nothing clean and green about your misguided, nonsensical radicalism, and Americans are on to you as we question your true motives.”<\/p>\n

8. Sarah Palin<\/strong><\/a> again: “Extreme Greenies:see now why we push’drill,baby,drill’of known reserves&promising finds in safe onshore places like ANWR? Now do you get it?” [sic]<\/p>\n

7. Rush Limbaugh<\/strong><\/a>: “This spill is nothing more than an opportunity for the left to continue to attack this country and to attack the people that make this country work.”<\/p>\n

6. Rush Limbaugh<\/strong> again: “When do we ask the Sierra Club to pay for this leak?”<\/p>\n

5. And Rush Limbaugh<\/strong> again: “It’s natural. It’s as natural as the ocean water is. Well, the turtles may take a hit for a while, but so what?…” and “Sea water is pretty tough stuff… oil has a tough time surviving.”<\/p>\n

4. BP CEO Tony Hayward<\/strong><\/a>: “The environmental impact of this disaster is likely to be very, very modest.”<\/p>\n

3. CEO Tony Hayward<\/strong> again: “The Gulf of Mexico is a very big ocean. The amount of volume of oil and dispersant we are putting into it is tiny in relation to the total water volume.”<\/p>\n

2. CEO Tony Hayward<\/strong> again: “What the hell did we do to deserve this?”<\/p>\n

1. And CEO Tony Hayward<\/strong> one more time (for now): “There’s no one who wants this over more than I do. I would like my life back.”<\/p>\n
