The arrests began on Burnaby Mountain. Police pushed the protestors back to the “legal protest” zone on Thursday. \u00a0Twenty-six were arrested. \u00a0David Suzuki’s grandson<\/a><\/strong>, Tamo Campos, and at least two members of the Squamish Nation<\/a><\/strong> were among them.<\/p>\n

Today was more peaceful. There were around 150 people, ten of which walked across the tape line so they would be arrested.\u00a0Simon Fraser Professor Lynne Quarmby<\/strong>,\u00a0<\/a>\u00a0Ruth Walmsley of B.R.O.K.E, and Kevin Washbrook of Voters Taking Action against Climate Change were taken.<\/p>\n

Just before she walked forward to be arrested, professor Quarmby said, “Canadians deserve a government that will address climate change. The fact that people are not allowed to talk about climate change in the pipeline hearings is evidence that the process is broken and corrupt.”<\/p>\n
