A zoo in China reportedly put a dog in a cage but labelled it as lion. The zoo is in Louhe, located in the province of Henan.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The zoo is absolutely trying to cheat us. They are trying to disguise dogs as lions,&#8221; explained a visitor. (Source: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2013\/08\/16\/world\/asia\/china-zoo-dog-lion\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CNN<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p>In one of the photographs on CNN, it appears that the fur has been combed to more resemble a lion&#8217;s. The &#8216;lion&#8217; was a Tibetan Mastiff. This a large hairy dog that does not resemble a lion very much, due to the smaller size, much smaller head and brown fur that is not even close to the same beige color of lion fur.<\/p>\n<p>An official at the zoo explained that <a href=\"http:\/\/planetsave.com\/2013\/03\/22\/congressman-ate-lion-meat\/\" target=\"_blank\">lion<\/a> was away for mating, but there was also speculation that facility was trying to cut costs. At least one dog was found in a wolf cage and a fox was in a leopard cage.<\/p>\n<p>False advertising in China has been enough of a problem that there was a public announcement about <a href=\"http:\/\/english.peopledaily.com.cn\/90882\/7967553.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">cracking down<\/a> on it in 2012.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Surely anyone would be able to tell the difference between a large dog and a huge cat.
