The last time I <a href=\"http:\/\/planetsave.com\/2011\/04\/08\/greenpeace-30-second-facebook-unfriend-coal-ad-video\/\" target=\"_blank\">updated you<\/a>, last week, I mentioned that Greenpeace was going to attempt the World Record for the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/notes\/unfriend-coal\/comment-here-share-for-the-world-record-we-have-already-gone-beyond-the-50000-ne\/138626456210552\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">highest number of comments on a Facebook post<\/a> within a 24-hour period.<\/p>\n<p>Well, today is the day of the attempt, and the record has already been crushed. As I&#8217;m writing this, there are over 59,000 comments on the post. The target to break the record according to Guinness World Records was 50,000.<\/p>\n<p>Nonetheless, the day is not over and Greenpeace is pushing us to hit 100,000 comments now. If you have done so yet, do so <a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/notes\/unfriend-coal\/comment-here-share-for-the-world-record-we-have-already-gone-beyond-the-50000-ne\/138626456210552\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>Beyond the Internet<\/h3>\n<p>Beyond just stimulating an incomprehensible number of comments, Greenpeace is bring these comments to Facebook. It is &#8220;showing these comments in support of renewable energy on a large scrolling screen in front of Facebook&#8217;s headquarters.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>How can Facebook ignore this?<\/p>\n<h3>50 Top Commenters Will Win a Prize<\/h3>\n<p>Greenpeace announced that it would be choosing the 50 top commenters of the day based on &#8220;the number of comments they make, the number of friends they tag, and the quality of the comments&#8221; and give them each a <strong>&#8216;Facebook Unfriend Coal&#8217; t-shirt<\/strong>. Think you&#8217;ve got what it takes to win?<\/p>\n<h3>Commenting Tips<\/h3>\n<p>Greenpeace has left us with a handful of great commenting tips. Use these and go comment now!<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You have to &#8216;like&#8217;\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/unfriendcoal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">www.facebook.com\/unfriendcoal<\/a> to comment<\/li>\n<li>Comment multiple times &#8211; it still counts!<\/li>\n<li>\u201c@nametag\u201d ten friends in the comment so they can join in the record too.<\/li>\n<li>Share the link on your own profiles<\/li>\n<li>Stay on topic &#8211; Facebook and renewable energy. Send your message to Facebook staff. Ask questions. Give opinions. Spark debate.
