This is an amazing story. Seriously. Just watch:
After sharing the photos and video of baby tiger and orangutan friends the other day, one of our Facebook friends, Rachael Rose, commented that she had run across a video of an owl and cat playing together. Another adorable animal friends story, so sharing it above.
I’ve written about odd animal friendships a few times in the past. The bottom line seems to be that when animals grow up together, start spending time together at a very young age, they become friends, no matter what species they are. We’ve seen this with a Lion, a Tiger, and a Bear (which are fully grown now), we’ve seen it with a crow and a cat, and we’ve seen it with numerous other animals.
I guess climate scientists are really get fed up with the nonsense they see on TV and in newspapers and online media. A group of climate scientists, REAL climate scientists, have created a rap video on the matter. Here it is (a note of caution to you if you are averse to strong language)
Supermodel Gisele Bündchen and world-leading actor Don Cheadle (one of my favorites), as UNEP Goodwill Ambassadors, have launched an international challenge for World Environment Day to get a new forest planted.
That’s pretty cool, eh? The comet, apparently, did not cause the explosion, and scientists have found no “convincing physical connection between sun-grazing comets and coronal mass ejections.” However, this video sure makes it look like the comet caused the explosion.
These are insane. On the one hand, would love to see them in person. On the other hand, it makes me quite happy that I don’t live in a place where I could run into dust storms or sand storms like these by accident and at the wrong time (or have one run into me or my home).
Seriously, why is it only FOX News making these makes? Was it a memo?
Seriously, this is what we need more of from Obama and Democratic leadership — not only the great humor that would garner a TON more attention to U.S. politics, but the innovative calling out of ridiculous attacks on him and his policies and the U.S. public.
If you haven’t learned about this case yet, now’s the time. This is perhaps the biggest story of the last decade (and that’s saying a lot). The results of this story have influence over every environmental issue out there, and much more.
Now, beyond telling us what has happened, Annie Leonard (yes, of “The Story of Stuff”) tells us how we can help create change that can address the problem that has landed on our lap. Check it out.
One of our loyal readers (the creator of the environmental music film above) passed on to me that Florida Power & Light (FPL) wants to put two new nuclear reactors on the shores of Biscayne Bay and the South Florida Wildlands Association is organizing a mock evacuation and rally for tomorrow (Saturday) in opposition to such a plan. Here’s more….
Here’s a beautiful video of our wondrous Earth that my brother recently shared with me (I turned the volume off — would have chosen a different soundtrack)
Here’s another super cute animal video. Check out these baby “Pygmy Goats” running around on someone’s back deck,.. and how much the dog cares 😀
