The first ever global network analysis of transnational corporations (TNCs) lays bare the “architecture” of the global ownership network. Specifically, the analysis reveals a “super entity” of 147 TNCs that have a control interest in 40% of all TNCs in the studied global network. The implications for this finding will be studied for years to come and will inform future investigations and national/international economic policies.
