No, this is not the same penguin that we’ve been writing about that accidentally swam from Antarctica to New Zealand. This is another touching penguin story.
The penguin below, Jay, is in New Zealand as well. He has been in rehab (no, not for drugs — for an injured left foot) at New Friends of Bushy Beach. New Friends of Bushy Beach specializes in sick and injured penguins and received the penguin on May 14.
This is too cute :D. This little baby elephant apparently sneezes, scares him/herself (or gets scared by the people laughing.. or both), and then runs and hides behind his/her mother. Adorable. A good follow-up to our post yesterday on the charging baby elephant.

Hilarious? Adorable? Yes & yes.
Why have I chosen the platypus? Because it’s a pretty awesome animal — I think it’s one of the most unusual creatures in the world! Moreover, when I was young I got a book about nature. I guess I wasn’t very aware of the existence of more animals than just common pets, but in that book I discovered something unbelievable! It was the platypus. I still remember that moment when I read about it, and when I was learning in school that mammals are animals which don’t have the ability of oviparity, I thought, “All right, but you forget about the platypus!”
