One more excellent post from Skeptical Science this week that I just had to repost in full. Tellin’ it like it is: by dana1981 A number of climate not-so-skeptics have … [Read full article]
I’ve been meaning to write on the crack that has formed in Antarctica’s Pine Island Glacier (PIG) for days now. Clearly, this is just another government scam trying to convince us … [Read full article]
The ever-witty and insightful video-making expert Peter Sinclair has made one of his signature “Climate Denial Crock of the Week” videos around the topic of the recent BEST climate study, … [Read full article]
First of all, if you don’t know who Lord Monckton is, he’s a global warming denier who can even make some deniers look like sane people. Skeptical Science has put together a nice summary and debunking of his many climate science myths. He’s also the guy picture above and featured in the video below. (Note: the House of Lords really has told him to stop using the title ‘Lord’ and identifying himself with the House.)
Anyway, check. this. one. out:
There are a lot of good videos out there on global warming and climate change, and solutions to them. Sometimes, though, I have a hard time finding the one I’m looking for. So, I thought I’d create a piece with all the best global warming and climate change videos I know of (and I’ll add to it as new ones are created).
1 of 3 videos provided from the Climate Reality project after 24 Hours of Climate Reality is below, an excellent expose on how the climate change denial ‘movement’ is following in the footsteps of the tobacco is good for you movement (narrated by Bill Nye). Check it out:
For what I think is the 7th time, independent review has found that Dr. Michael Mann’s work is completely scientifically sound and that climate gate was only a crime in that someone broke in and stole over a decade’s worth of emails (and then someone else used them to try to frame climate scientists.. and quite successfully did so.)
This is a wonderful spoof post by Chris Mooney that is too good not to share. Hilarious but also too ridiculous how U.S. politicians (ahem, Republicans) are threatening the livability of the world out of greed or pure ignorance.
A deadly, brain-eating amoebe has killed at least one boy and one girl recently. The amoebe proliferates at high water temperatures. Water temperatures are higher than normal due to human-caused global warming. Connect the dots.
Here are some of the top climate and environmental science stories of the week (other than what we’ve covered), starting with a funny video from The Onion on twitchy climate scientists.
I never get political on Facebook, but I need to comment about Al Gore’s Rolling Stone article…
Good global weirding (aka climate change, global warming) stories from the past week or so:
I shared this video as part of another post the other day, but it is a truly excellent video, so I wanted to feature it in its own post. The video was created about a month and a half ago, but as long as completely ridiculous understandings of climate science, climate scientists, and “climategate” prevail, it will be relevant… Check it out!
