Yes, unless you believe that every major temperature dataset in the world has been rigged, you cannot deny that 2010 was tied (statistically) for the hottest year on record. NASA and NOAA have already reported this, as I covered earlier this month, and now more datasets, from the UK’s Climate Research Unit (CRU) and the University of Alabama at Huntsville (UAH), show the same.
If you’re into graphs, here’s one more from NASA showing both annual global temperature anomalies (the light, thin line) and the 5-year running temperature anomaly average (the dark, thick line).
And some crazies literally tell me that the Earth has not warmed in the last 10 years (because of a simple fact of statistics they.. or their leaders.. are abusing)….
As Peter Sinclair of Climate Denial Crock of the Week notes, even if you don’t trust a single temperature dataset, there is other clear evidence of the warming around the world, from the birds to the bees to the weather.
In a recent study, Nasa researchers collected data from more than 29000 physical, biological, and atmospheric processes. The melting of frozen lakes and rivers, the blooming dates of flowers, the spawning of fish, and migration of birds. The vast majority, almost 90 percent, were found to be changing in a manner consistent with warming.

sorry, no rigging of anything here. this commenting system doesn’t have a dislike button. & no, the numerous datasets did not leave the cold out. despite a strong La Nina at the end of the year, the year still ended up the hottest on record !
