If Only Greenhouse Gases Were Visible (Special Camera Shows Them)

A friend/fellow Important Media director, Becky Striepe, shared this story with me a few weeks ago. I’ve been dying to get to it but just haven’t. The idea, one I hadn’t really given much thought to, is that the world would probably be a lot more gung-ho about stopping global warming and greenhouse gas emissions if you could see the greenhouse gases.

Well, ABC has, sort of, made that possible.

“The Graphics Department of ABC News, working with technicians from the FLIR camera company, whose special ‘GasfinderIR – GF’ cameras can ‘see’ greenhouse gases, has created artist’s impressions of what it might look like if we could see our greenhouse gas emissions,” ABC reports.

Here’s a video showing a bit of that:

Interesting to watch!

Much more on greenhouse gases, global warming, and why climate scientists are so concerned (if you’d like an intro to all that) is presented at the link above.

  1. Thanks for all your hard work. Denial of reality is the only way most of us can live with ourselves and requires us to condemn those who seek to save us from ourselves. May you always keep your sense of humor. You should try being an environmentalist in Northern Idaho, the poster child for a State of denial.

  2. Hey Zach, remember when I said your intellectual reputation will be shattered in your own lifetime. Well, Thus fgr it has only received a major blow, not yet sunk.

Just give me a bit more time.

    1. markus, i don’t think it has taken a blow, LOL πŸ˜€

      You crack me up.

Take your time. And hey, if you spend enough time researching climate science, you might actually come to the conclusion the climate scientists come to πŸ˜€
