I’ve written on PACT a couple times. It’s an organic underwear company for good. It’s helping to fight coal power on U.S. college campuses and it’s giving kudos to our everyday green heroes. Now, it’s also helping out some of the victims of the tremendous Japanese disasters this year with its PACT for Japan line, just released this week.

Here’s more:

“This holiday season, PACT and Architecture for Humanity are refusing to let Japan’s disaster relief needs go unanswered. Known for their innovative, cause-based partnerships with different social and environmental causes, PACT is once again providing a unique platform for supporting rebuilding in Japan by teaming up with Architecture for Humanity for their holiday collection. Together, they will work to rebuild an entire village in Japan.

“Ten percent of proceeds from the PACT for Japan collection will go directly to Architecture for Humanity’s efforts to rebuild the Japanese village of Shizugawa, a small fishing village where 70% of the structures were destroyed by the tsunami in March. Customers purchasing items from the PACT for Japan collection will be supporting Architecture for Humanity’s design and reconstruction of a work-house and oyster bar, buildings crucial to the revitalization of the town’s economy and sense of community.

“The original prints by Yves Behar are inspired by traditional Japanese wood block prints and three major needs in post-disaster rebuilding efforts: water, shelter and light. These three themes were chosen to highlight the ongoing needs of devastated Japanese communities following the tsunami.”

Kudos to PACT and Architecture for Humanity.

Need underwear this year? Or want to buy some for someone else? Consider choosing PACT’s Japan line.

(Note: the 3 patterns above are available for all underwear styles, and there’s also a women’s thong not featured in the images above — wasn’t sure if it was too revealing for our site :D.)
