Sim City Herman Cain's 999 Tax Plan for the Rich & for Fighting Giant Lizards

herman cain tax plan for rich & fighting giant lizards in sim city

Well, Herman Cain’s 9-9-9 (or 999) tax plan may or may not have been inspired by Sim City. I doubt he even knows where it came from, despite saying that claims it came from Sim City are a lie. How else his team would have come up with that number, I don’t know. As the creators of Sim City point out, they implemented that tax system so that players would have more time for fighting giant lizards:

“Our game design team thought that an easy-to-understand taxation system would allow players to focus on building their cities and have fun thwarting giant lizard attacks, rather than be buried by overly complex financial systems,” Kip Katsarelis, a senior producer for Maxis, said.

But, of course, back to “reality”: “It’s an original idea, and for people to say it’s modeled after a game — it’s a lie,” Cain said during a campaign stop in Tennessee. “That’s all I’m going to say. It is a lie.” You’ve convinced me, Mr. Cain! Thanks for the clarification.

Cain’s 9-9-9 Tax Code Would Help the Rich & Hurt the Poor

On a more serious note, I think the important point about Cain’s tax plan is that it’s more rich GOP bull shit designed at robbing to poor to pay the rich.

“Under Herman Cain’s 9-9-9 tax reform plan, 84% of U.S. households would pay more than they do under current tax policies, according to a report released Tuesday by a nonpartisan research group,” CNN reported this week.

“And the impact would be felt most heavily by the lowest income groups.”

Who’s surprised? If someone can show me one single policy rich GOP candidates or politicians strongly support (or even support at all) that would actually help the poor and working class more than the rich, I will be shocked!

I don’t know why it is. I don’t know how the party of Abraham Lincoln turned into the most easily bribed party in the history of the United States. But that is the sad truth today, that is what the GOP has become. And Cain fits in perfectly.
