Italian Activists Hang Anti-Nuclear Banner from Stadium Ceiling for Italian Soccer Final {VIDEO}

Check that out! Some Greenpeace activists in Italy dropped a huge anti-nuclear banner 20 minutes into a huge Italian soccer/football match (and you know Italians are huge soccer/football fans). Furthermore, the banner stayed up for the whole game!

The game was apparently the Italian league finals for the Coppa Italia — the Italian Cup. The two teams playing were renowned Palermo and Internazionale (Inter) Milan.

“The nuclear campaign in Italy is going a bit crazy – while some activists drop one of the biggest banners I’ve ever seen in football stadiums, others lock themselves in a bunker to simulate what would happen in case of a nuclear disaster,” JulietteH of Greenpeace writes.

“But that is not anywhere near the level of craziness you’d need to reach to build nuclear power plants in a country at risk from earthquakes. Nuclear energy is dangerous, period.”

And, of course, like any good activist organization, Greenpeace is offering up some advice on how normal Italians (and non-Italians) can take action to protect their country from nuclear energy.

“If you’re in Italy, make the right choice in the coming referendum. If you’re elsewhere, just share this amazing video with your friends. If they’re anything like me, they’ll appreciate it.
