Solar-Powered, Egg-Shaped, Eco-Friendly House on Beijing Sidewalk

Yeah, that’s right, a Beijing architect has built an environmentally-friendly egg-shaped house on the sidewalk in Beijing… and is living in it!

The 24-year-old architect is Dai Haifei.

Here are some of the cool features of the house, most of which you can see in the photos:

  • it’s solar-powered
  • it has a living roof and walls
  • it’s mobile
  • it’s made of bamboo strips, wood chippings, sack bags, and grass seed
  • it cost about $1000 to build (6427 yen)
  • it’s egg-shaped 😀
