Over on sister site CleanTechnica, we’ve been covering the growth and promise of a company looking to pioneer 3D solar cells for about a year (the company’s name is, aptly, Solar3D). We’ve also been covering a certain solar technology — solar tiles (aka solar shingles) — for years. Now, it seems Solar3D is looking to get into the solar tiles business.

Solar3D announced this week that “it will conduct a study of the economics and benefits of integrated Solar3D cells directly into roof tiles,” as reported over on CleanTechnica. Sounds exciting.
