Retreating Ice in Greenland {Photo of the Day}

This Envisat image taken on June 23, 2011, shows the retreating ice across part of the east coast of Greenland.

Greenland’s ice-sheet is the second largest body of ice in the world, behind Antarctic in the Southern Hemisphere, and covers roughly 80% of the country.
