Limbaugh: Most Insensitive Remarks Regarding Japan's Devastation Possible [VIDEO]

  • Published on March 16th, 2011

This is truly horrible, and I wondered if it should even be shared. Puts my stomach in a knot. But for precisely that point, and the power this man and so many like him yield, I thought it my responsibility to share his remarks on here.

Apparently, Rush Limbaugh lacks all compassion for the people of Japan. On his show, he was laughing about the fact that Japanese are recycling even after the tremendous disasters that hit the country (video below). Not only does he mock the Japanese, but he completely mocks ABC’s Diane Sawyer. He also goes on to laugh at the fact that the Japanese, despite being very environmentally friendly, were so harmed by Mother Nature, and draws ridiculous conclusions from it.

The shot he sends to the Japanese for their green efforts is completely absurd and lacking in compassion, though.

A caller asks Limbaugh, “If these are the people that invented the Prius, have mastered public transportation, recycling, why did Mother Earth, Gaia if you will, hit them with this disaster?”

“He’s right,” Limbaugh said. “They’ve given us the Prius. Even now, refugees are recycling their garbage.” Here, he began to laugh, continuing, “and yet, Gaia levels them! (Laugh) Just wipes them out!”

“That is an excellent question,” Limbaugh ridiculously states. “In fact, where Gaia blew up is right where they make all these electric cars, that’s where the tsunami hit.”

He goes on and on about this: “I like the way this guy is thinking,” he states, and  then asks, “What is Gaia trying to tell us here?.. What is the mother of environmentalism trying to tell us here?”

Wow.

Limbaugh also previously asked if environmentalists should cheer for the earthquake.

  • If he doesn’t know what to say he should rather keep in silent. I don’t think this is the right time to make fun of this kind of situation. He should rather talk about facts and put them into reasonable consequences to make people understand not misleading them more.

  • Repugnant.

  • Limbaugh keeps saying this is an “excellent question” – of course it’s a stupid question with a leading conclusion. Of course Rush picked it up and ran with it.

  • Rush Limbaugh is an idiot, but when I finally listened to this, it just wasn’t all that bad. Yes, it’s insensitive. Yes, it’s moronic. But it’s no worse than anything else that comes out of his mouth. At first he made fun of Diane Sawyer because he misinterpreted her surprise (that recycling was still going on) as giddiness. Once you accept that weird interpretation, it makes sense to make fun of her: all these people just lost everything, and all she can do is get excited about recycling. The part about Gaia is just an extension of his anti-environmentalism as he gets giddy about the thought that something bad can happen to someone who cares about the environment in the same way that someone might find it funny that a terrorist bomb maker got blown up by his own bombs or a gun dealer was shot by his own guns or a bully was beaten up by a bigger bully or a banker lost his home to foreclosure.

  • i’d call him an a**hole, but that’d be an insult to everyone’s backsides.

and at the very end the caller worried about picking the same team to win the ncaa championship as the president? really? you have that much hatred towards the president of your country that you don’t want to pick the same team in your office pool? wow…

    • yeah, totally — don’t insult people body parts like that. & yeah, what a ridiculous caller at the end as well..

  • This doesn’t surprise me one bit – the guy is a delusional pill-popper who strikes me as the type of guy who takes pictures of little boys in their underwear.

    • seriously, seems like he would, doesn’t it?

    • …that’s a thought i never want to come back into my mind. he’s such a sleaze ball
