scream – maybe someone will hear you
I was drinking a cup of coffee this morning and half watching Robin & Company on CNN when the screams of a college student rattled my sleepy haze. “Don’t tase me…please someone help…what have I done…what have I done wrong?” Queue the sound of flesh being zapped and the young man’s screams quickly follow. This was a Q&A with John Kerry gone wrong.
The student asked Kerry why he didn’t try to impeach Bush and questioned the “Skull and Bones” secret society. He went on too long, perhaps was a little too passionate – demanding answers for things we all want to know. Who doesn’t want to scream at our government, god forbid someone actually does!
He was a kid with a mic, not a gun. A gang of cops pulled him from the microphone, and began to arrest him. The student protested and claimed he would just leave if they let him go. John Kerry made a joke. They tasered him.
My gentleman lover, sitting beside me over coffee, shrugged and said he was resisting arrest. Besides a huge burning desire to slap him into the now militant reality of our future, I simply asked him: Arrested for what? Not playing nice?
Where oh where has freedom of speech gone?
